Services and Amenities

Residents that reside in a Fortis Healthcare Assisted Living Residences are provided with healthcare oversight, by high quality nursing staff.  Nursing staff includes Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Licensed Medication Nursing Assistants (LMNA), Licensed Nursing Assistances (LNA) and Resident Care Managers (RCM).  All of these nursing disciplines work as a coordinated team to provide the highest quality of care and ensure that all the resident’s healthcare needs are met.  Upon admission and on an ongoing basis each resident is evaluated for their specific healthcare and personal care needs.  Nursing staff assists residents with medication management, monitoring of chronic medical conditions and personal care at whatever level the resident requires.

Nursing staff is the keystone in the healthcare management of each resident. Nursing coordinates the appointments with licensed practitioners, medical specialist, as well as support services that come into the assisted living residence through third party resources.  Support services routinely used include physical, occupational and speech therapies.  Hospice, wound care, respiratory therapy may be arranged to meet the needs of a resident to help them remain in what they regard as their home, as they age in place.

Special care is provided in the healthcare needs of residents who suffer from Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia.  Nursing staff must use their assessment skills to monitor the needs of residents’ who cannot speak for themselves. When residents cannot express symptoms of pain or illness, that’s when our nursing staff excels.  Once the needs of the resident have been assessed, than nursing staff arranges the appropriate medical interventions and follow up care.

In a Fortis Healthcare Assisted Living Residence it not like living in a nursing home, it’s like getting quality nursing care in your home.
